*UPDATE: The Church in Albir is back open after staff ‘worked all night’ to get it ready.​​​​ The fire started in the kitchen, which will be refitted. Owner Georgina told Benidorm Reviews she was overwhelmed with her staff who worked until dawn to fix it up.

The CHURCH BAR- ALBIR orginazed a 3 course mexican meal to help the local dog charity with raffles, entertainment and fun. A full house had to leave in a rush when a fire started at 20:20 pm from the kitchen, smoke emerged, and the rush started.

After confusion, staff running in and out, and various calls to 112(Spanish emergency line).

A police car finally showed up 13 minutes after. And explained we all must evacuate while we waited for the fire brigade.

18 minutes after it started 2 fire brigade trucks and 1 car joined by 2 police cars to direct traffic. They managed to put the fire out with no injured, and by 20.40 the place was closed of. We got told to go home.

Thank you to the staff of the church for keeping us all safe with out panicking, being professional and trying there best so it didn’t get any worse.

Thank you to the fire brigade and the police officers that managed the situation quickly. We were very lucky it didn’t turn In to a big disaster.
