Starting from tomorrow 12 pm and looking to last 7 days with the possibility of an extension of the numbers not come down.

People are still able to drive through the provinces of Alicante, Valencia and Castellón so far.

In the last two weeks the number of cases has doubled, reaching 218 for every 100.000 residents.

The following areas have harder restrictions as numbers are a lot higher:

IN ALICANTE;

• Elche
• Elda
• Crevillent
• Ibi
• Pinoso
• Muro de Alcoi
• Petrer
• Health Department of Orihuela
• Health Department of Torrevieja

IN VALENCIA;

• Algemesí
• Guadassuar

IN CASTELLÓN;

• Morella
• Molés
• Onda
• Vinarós

The restrictions include 1/3 of capacity allowed in shopping centers and hotels.

50% of full capacity allowed on terraces (this is for bars and restaurants) And same goes for outdoor markets.

So far everything else will be functioning the same way. There goal is reduce the virus numbers down to 25 for 100.000 residents. Once this happens then they will talk about changing things back.

There is no talk about any lockdown in the Valencian Community, since we have the lowest numbers in Spain.

The Tío Ximo beach forms part of the Sierra Helada natural park, and is only 60m wide. That’s what makes it so incredibly special.

Definitely not your usual beach, the Cala del Tío Ximo is formed by rocks and dark sand. The sea is as clear as glass. Perfect for snorkelling. ​

Come September, it’s very hard to find anyone there – but in the summer it’s an all-day rotation of people hiding away from the busy city.

Visiting hidden Benidorm beach – La Cala del Tío Ximo

​​Where is it?

Cala del Tío Ximo is located only 1.5km away from levante beach. A breezy 20 minute walk (up hill I must say). Or a 9 minute drive. It has plenty of parking spaces.​​​

When can I visit?

The beach is open all year round, however lifeguards are only present during the months of July, August and September.

How much does it cost?

You can walk to Cala del Tío Ximo from Levante Beach.

Did you know?

I am very curious to see how many people have been on it. Or to what it is like there. It is known also as peacock island, and I’ve heard you can have a beer, some food and even enjoy snorkeling there! I am hoping to go soon, and enjoy the beautiful nature of it.

Visiting Benidorm Island

*PIRATE ISLAND: The family who own Benidorm Islands’ restaurant and only two boat-trip companies (Cerbuques and Excursiones Maritimas Benidorm) operate without legal licenses for either. We recommend you enjoy Benidorm’s natural parks safely.

Where is it?

Benidorm Island is a tiny island just 5km by sea from Benidorm’s beaches. It covers 7ha, forms part of the Sierra Helada national park and is uninhabited except for the peacocks and illegal restaurant.

When can I visit?

Excursiones Maritimas offer boat trips every hour from 11am until 4pm. Trips take two hours, and include stop-over at the restaurant on Benidorm Island. Find them here.

How much does it cost?

Prices are currently: 15€ for adults and 12€ for children.

Did you know?

Legend has it a brave boy once climbed Puig Campana mountain in search a sorcerer to cure his sick lover. The sorcerer proclaimed the girl was destined to die at sundown, so the boy cut a chunk from the mountain so the sun wouldn’t disappear until he returned to Benidorm. The chunk of rock fell into the sea to make Benidorm Island, where the boy set sail with his lover’s body and sunk their boat into the tranquil waters of the Med.
