February marks the end of winter and sees just half the rainfall of January and the sun shines considerably more. With 13oc being the daily average you still need jumpers and jackets but spring is on the doorstep.

March is when the winter rentals end and and the Holiday season starts. Mid March St Patrick’s day holds the second busiest expat Fiestas in Benidorm and the day is generally 16/17oc. The beginning of March starts at around 14oc and end of march can see highs of 19oc.

April Benidorm will start to buzz with activity, daily highs average at 20 to 22oc and the promenade is busy with walkers and runners who enjoy the brighter warmer mornings with daily sunshine increasing to 8 hours from the previous months 7 hours of sunlight. Evenings can drop to 11oc.

May will come to a surprise to many as being the month with the most days of rainfall ‘7 to 8 days’ most years but it’s normally showers or light to moderate. The days do stay warm despite the rain and daily highs are 21 to 23oc.

June sees longer days with 8 to 9 hours of sunshine, June is a busy month for hens and stags who are planning their summer wedding in the UK and come to Benidorm to enjoy the nightlife with friends, with warm evenings of 14oc the terraces are full along the promenade. Days hit highs of 26-27oc

July is the month of family holidays when summer really begins with days towards the end of the month peaking over 30oc. The end of July sees the longest days of sunshine and the busiest week for summer holidays before the higher prices of august comes in to play.

August being the height of summer can peak at 40oc in the sunshine, most days settle at 32 to 34oc with a sea temperature of 25 to 26oc. Most people head to the beach including Spanish families to soak up the sun and enjoy the long summer days with over 12 hours of sunshine.

September seems to hold 2 or 3 storms each year with about 5 days of rainfall, September is still hot with average days at 25oc but some days can reach 30oc and still feels like the heat of August filling the beaches and bar terraces. If Benidorm sees a Gota Fria it’s generally in September and can see a huge downpour in just a few hours leading to the streets and even the beach flooding.

October midway through Autumn and the weather is a beautiful 20-22 most days. Evenings do drop to around 14oc so it’s advised to pack your favourite sweater or jacket for those evening walks. Rain does fall in October for an average of 3 to 4 days but when it falls it’s generally heavy and most of the day therefore seeing the most rainfall in many month in millimeters.

November we can start to see the rain and cool weather creep in with the days averaging at 16oc and around 4 days of rain during the month. November English Fancy Dress Fiestas seems to luckily fall on a nice warm day each year averaging to 17oc when looking back over the past 10 years.

December Christmas is coming and so is the cold weather, Decembers 14oc is cold for the people who live here in Spain and are climatised so it’s definitely not sunbathing weather but some holiday makers still brave the mild weather and you will see them sat fully dressed on the beach with a good book.
